Effie Epstein

Effie Epstein is a seasoned executive who brings a cross-disciplinary fluency to Sound Ventures. Her 20-year career spans public and private enterprises, startups, and legacy institutions—giving her a unique command across industries and business models. For nearly a decade, she has led and scaled Sound Ventures – shaping the firm’s investing ethos, strategy and growth that define Sound today.

Prior to Sound, she served as Head of Global Strategy at Marsh, the multibillion-dollar insurance brokerage and risk advisory division of Marsh & McLennan.

She previously held senior leadership roles at iHeartMedia and secure identity pioneer CLEAR, where she led strategy and executed on the company’s early expansion.

She began her career at Merrill Lynch in Global Energy & Power Investment Banking before joining the strategy team at NYSE Euronext.

These experiences at critical inflection points—whether in scaling startups or navigating complexity within Fortune 100 enterprises—inform her sharp instincts around scaling, team-building, and operational rigor.

Effie holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
